On 26th April, the Watson Farley and Williams Athens office held its inaugural Women in Shipping event (“WISE”), where women from across the Greek and international shipping industry came together to share their insights and career experiences.
WISE provided an opportunity for women from across the shipping sector to celebrate and support each other in their shipping careers. The event was extremely well-attended by 150 people – all women working in the shipping sector in Greece and abroad.
Vassiliki Georgopoulos, Alexia Hatzimichalis, and Lindsey Keeble, along with Zafiria Souri, and Christina Margelou shared experiences and discussed the difficulties during their careers in the shipping industry, both in Greece and abroad. All the speakers have been active in the sector for more than 20 years.
The event supported the European Anti-Violence network, a non-profit, non-governmental organization founded in 2006, with its headquarters based in Athens. Guests donated funds directly to the charity.
